Ben Marsh is an experienced international school leader with more than two decades of work across diverse global contexts. He currently serves as Director of The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, a three program IB World School serving an international community on a 42 acre campus.

Ben has held senior leadership roles in international schools in Lesotho, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar, and now the DRC, giving him deep perspective on leading teaching and learning across varied cultural, political, and organizational environments. His work has consistently focused on strengthening instructional quality, building collective teacher efficacy, and developing sustainable systems that support student learning.

As a Head of School, Ben is particularly interested in how leaders create conditions for meaningful data use that respects teacher professionalism and improves practice rather than compliance. He has partnered closely with Learning Analytics Collaborative in multiple school contexts, using data as a leadership tool to support reflection, collaboration, and informed decision making at both classroom and system levels.

Rather than focusing on results as "yet another survey", we examine the strategic implications of voice, trust, and culture - and challenge leaders to consider what their own schools might discover by asking different questions, in different ways, and taking the answers seriously.

Dr. Ben Voborsky is the Head of School at Canggu Community School (CCS) in Bali, Indonesia, where he leads a diverse international community of more than 650 students representing over 40 nationalities. An experienced international school leader, Ben has held senior leadership positions in Indonesia, the UAE, Sudan, and South Korea across the past 25 years.

Ben's leadership focuses on future-ready learning, wellbeing, innovation, inclusion, and building strong, human-centered school cultures. He has led strategic initiatives in AI integration, learning analytics, accreditation, wellbeing, sustainability, and experiential learning, while guiding CCS through significant growth, campus expansion, and strategic transformation.

He holds a Doctor of Education in Instructional Leadership from Wilkes University and currently serves as a CIS Evaluation Chair, WASC evaluator, conference speaker, and leadership mentor within the international school community. Ben is passionate about balancing data-informed decision making with compassion, belonging, and the deeply human work at the heart of education.

A technology leader with more than two decades of experience driving digital transformation across schools in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Joseph (Joe) Barder has spent his career helping international schools navigate meaningful change. Joe pioneered integration models in the early 2000s and developed interdisciplinary design-thinking frameworks; now he leads whole school system implementations (including the development of human-centered AI workflows) as well as large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives focused on secure, data-informed innovation. He thrives at the intersection of purpose, people, and technology—helping organizations create the conditions for clear, joyful ownership of change so people can do the best work of their lives and love how it feels.

Why the Collaborative Data Model is Better for International Schools

Thanks to the advances in AI and their underlying models, every school now has the ability to create their own dashboards for student learning data. But there is a major difference between building data systems in isolation and participating in a collaborative model grounded in shared protocols, normative regional data, and collective inquiry. In a sector shaped by transient leadership, changing educational trends, and the limitations of country-specific norms, collaborative analytics offer something more durable: context.

This keynote challenges the idea that dashboards alone improve learning, arguing instead that the real power of data emerges when schools examine it together, against meaningful norms, through a shared commitment to better questions and better decisions.

Matt was educated in Liverpool, Manchester and Bedfordshire England and began teaching in September 1997 at Parmiter's School, a leading state school in Hertfordshire, UK. Since then he worked in outstanding state and independent schools in the UK before moving to his first international post at The British School in Tokyo in 2007 as Director of Sport and Outdoor Education and subsequently, was the founding Head of Sixth Form when the school expanded in 2010.

Matt joined I-Shou International School as the International Secondary Department Director in 2020 following significant senior leadership roles in both Singapore and Warsaw, Poland. In 2022, he was promoted to the post of International Headmaster. Along with a vast amount of experience leading international schools, Matt is also a former IBDP Examiner and a Council of International School volunteer accreditor, regularly serving on school accreditation teams.

Matt met his wife in Tokyo, and his children were born in Singapore and Poland. As a multi-cultural family, they enjoy travelling to experience new cultures. In his limited spare time, Matt enjoys golf, following his beloved Everton Football Club and spending time with family.
